I'm removing the fuel tnk in my 78 K5. I have the fuel tank gaurd off. How many connections do I need to remove from the tank? I can see the two hoses going to the tank from the fuel cap. Also how do I disconect the fuel sending unit wire? Is this bolted onto the fuel sending unit?

thx

The pink wire for the sender hasa rubber cap on it, which, with fiddling, will just pop off ... it's a pin connection to the sender.

There's also a ground which is prolly soldered or spot-welded to the outside ring somewhere; be careful with it as it's a PITA to solder back on (AMHIK).

All the ground wires I've ever come across for the senders are always screwed to the crossmember front of the tank.

Err, mine was bolted to the frame ... but I meant the end that went to the sender; doesn't it get attached to a tab on the sender? Been a while, I could be forgetting :dunno:

Been a while since I've seen one also. But IIRC it was just a male/female connection of sort.
