78 Rag Joint

Does anyone have a steering Rag Joint for a half ton chevy?

The help section of your local auto parts store should have a new one for about 15.00 or less.

The parts store only has the rag itself. I mainly need the hardward that the rag connects to. The peice with the 2 bolts. The spline count is 25 or 26 for a chevy. It connects to the streering box. Can anyone help?

You can buy the complete assembly through the HELP line. Ask your parts store about it, it is a fairly new item as of earlier this year. If you need i can get you the part number here at work.

Yes can I please have the part number. I have a O'rilly's or Auto Zone in my town.

Ok, you need to measure the diameter of the input shaft of the steering box, if it's 3/4" diameter it is a Motormite 31011 and if it's 13/16" then it's a Motormite 31015.

If it's all OE, 78 should be the bigger one.

OK it is the 3/4, 25 spline but I can not find it anywhere on the Net. And I am allmost sure the guys at the stores in my town cant help. I have put cross over streering on my Blazer. And the streering box is a PSC from ORD. So I have no idea what to tell the guys at the store to look up. If it is not in the computer. They have no idea what to do. I like the old days when the guy had to thumb through those thick ass parts books. And get it right the first time.
Anyway, do you no of anywhere to look?

Ask for the store manager, tell him his newbie employees need more training. They still have books to look through.
