\'79 Blazer

Hi! I am new to this forum, and I have a question to ask. I have a '79 K5 for sell where I live for sale. It has a 454, TH350 and a Np203 for a thousand dollars. It has a few rust spots on the body but it is in overall good shape and the person selling wants $1000 for it, should I buy? It does not have front bumper and and has alot of play in the steering. Opinions please. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Re: \'79 Blazer

If I had the money, I'd buy it as long as that 454 runs good.

Re: \'79 Blazer

Good price but keep this in mind...SMOG,you will still need to have it pass the sniff test for a while yet..if it passes then go for it...
Slap a new steering box on ,grab a bumper a a junk yard Go from there..

Re: \'79 Blazer

In Louisiana we don't have the sniffer test. It is totaly stock except for some 31" muds.

Also if I put 6" lift on it will i need a new front driveshaft?

Re: \'79 Blazer

you will need to find a driveshaft shop to have it lengthend is all.

If you dont have smog test I would go for it. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

BBC 454 was never offered in a Blazer so that is why I said about the sniffer test..And since you dont have that test,no need to woryy about it.. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: \'79 Blazer

All K5's are different. When I did my 6" lift I didnt need to put in a new front driveshaft. I did have to replace the rear. I have heard of people needing to replace the front Driveshaft though.

Re: \'79 Blazer

I didn't know that thanks.

Can I fit a 38x12.50 TSL with a 6" lift?

Re: \'79 Blazer

Went look at it again today. Looks like the frame is bent about 4" behind the front right sping hanger. The U-joints need to be changed, it looks like at one time one owner welded a front bumper on and cut it off before he sold it, the brakes are shot but have new brake pads, steering is about as sloppy as can be. Don't think it will happen!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

[/ QUOTE ]Offer him what it's worth to you. I'd give $500.00 for a parts truck with a 454 as long as it runs good.

Re: \'79 Blazer

I tried but he paid $1000 for it a year ago because he didn't know what he was looking at and now he wants his money back out of it /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif He won't go down on it.
