79 Fender Emblem Location

I bought a pair of emblems for the 79 and she doesn't have holes in her fenders for them. I tried doing some research on the exact location of where they sit, but couldn't find anything concrete. Does anybody have a resource for dimension for the location of these or can measure the location of their own?

Why don't you have holes? Have you pulled them and looked at the back side? Likely one of two things happened, they were either filled with bondo or welded shut. If it is only bondo, you can easily locate them and drill them out. If welded, there is likely a blob of weld on the back side as well, but drilling will be a little more difficult.

That's my driver side GM NOS fender. The 4-3/8 is measured along the curve of the fender from the peak of the body line as accurate as I could be. The passenger side had slightly different measurements, noted above, and is also a GM fender. Tolerances were a little loose back then.

Kenny, they unfortunately filled in the the holes and painted black over them on the inside. They did a damn good job too because I tried to shine a light on in there and have no way of telling....maybe I can use a stick magnet with some cloth on it to get a feel for it?
