I'm working on my dads farm truck. It is a 79 K20 w/ 350,Th400 and Quadrajet carb. The truck has 70k original miles and we rebuilt the motor, trans, and carb in 96. I believe it was bored .030 over during the rebuild. We have not used it much since the rebuild.
In 04, I started working on the farm full time and wanted to the truck back into service. Had carb issues and was getting gas in the oil. Have not touched it in a while and I am tired of seeing it sitting there rotting.

What has been done to date:

Changed carb with one known to work
Changed fuel pump

Now Im drawing a blank as to what would be causing gas to get in the oil
Thanks

Short of some very weird plumbing, there is only two ways for gas to get into the oil.

Some can get in there from the carb, but you will usually have all kinds of drivability problems.
The most common way, by a huge amount, is the fuel pump.

Even though you changed it, I would still suspect it. You may have gotten a bad one somehow.

Might be a little messy, but you should be able to test it I suppose.
Pull it off, plug the outlet with your finger or something, and press the lever. Watching where the lever comes out. If you are getting a lot of gas, you should see some come out around the lever.

Its possible a tiny pinhole might not show, but odds are you will see it.

Thanks for the reply. I will try a new fuel pump.
