79 K5 4wd to 2wd

I have a 79 K5 with a 4WD set up and I want to go to a 2WD with a arms. The rig already has a 2WD tranny. Has any one out there done this? The reason that I want to do this is I want to do a 4/6 drop and I dont want to be one of the guys out there with a 4X4 that never takes it off road. Plus I have always wanted a lowered K5 set up to handle on the street.

Yes it's been done.
I have everything you need if you want go 8 lug from a 1 ton 2wd.
If you want to go 5 lug, the only thing I can provide is the cross member.
The A arms and springs are heavy duty and the spindle and hub are for 8 lug.
I even have the steering setup complete which is the same 5 lug or 8 lug.

At this point I was looking more to find out what it takes to do the swap. Is there a wright up on it? I may be interested in the parts at some point in the near future.

You can bolt a Porterbilt or Suicide Doors cross member in there too if you want to go really low on air bags

Thanks KansasTwister that is a great thred. After looking at it I think that I will hold off for a while as I need the rig for a driver right now. Hopefully i will be able to get this done in the next 6 months or so.
