The current setup in my 79 I have the "wing" style ignition cylinder in my steering column like this:

However it turns on without the key and I want to get a new switch to get this fixed. It is setup with a tilt steering column. For some reason the ignition cylinder that rockauto recommends and other websites I've seen on is the GM Part # D1499A which seems to be panel mounted and doesn't have the "wings":

Images of all the 79 K5 Blazers I've seen on the net they all seemed to be in the steering column and with "wings" so I'm confused on which part to get. I want to try and get the GM/AC Delco part if possible. I've seen this one on amazon which looks like it may be the right part but there is no confirmation from any of the vehicle filters:

If anybody knows which one it's one of you guys! Thanks

You will need the wings style

There is a cam gear that drives the rod down to the start switch. A bit of a PITA to change

It's entirely possible that the Rockauto picture isn't accurate.
But I understand the hesitancy to order what appears to be incorrect.
I haven't ever tried the return policy of Rockauto, but I would be tempted to order one from them myself. Just be ready to take it apart soon after receiving it so that you can verify quickly.
