8.1 litre swap

I have a lead on a 8.1 litre big block chev. I was going to rebuild my engine anyway and use the 4l80 trans I already have. This will be going in my tow rig. The 8.1 comes with all the compontents needed for the swap, but it had a stick shift trans. The wiring and computer wont support the 4l80 trans. I do have the tbi and wiring for the trans to go with my first plan. Who would I use to update the computer to support this setup?

The 4l80 would have to be a 95 or newer to be compatible with the 8.1s computer. You'll then need to get a wiring harness for an 8.1 4l85e combination or get the necessary wires and connectors from another harness and retrofit into the existing M/T harness. (probably a dozen or so wires and 3 connectors)

The computer wouldn't be too big of a deal. Just flash auto trans software and at the same time remove VATS and all the emission junk. Probably cost 2-300 bucks I'd guess.

An 8.1 conversion. I was thinking I might make it into the Advanced Class of conversions when I graphed the Vortec 7.4 stuff onto my 454?

Looks like a fun project.
