8 Low

yeah Ruffstuff sells them. I'd rather not have them, I think they're a weak point.

My floor is not in the stock location at all. It is however not that much higher then the stock one would be, and could go lower too. That is just where I put the bars so I went with it there.

image.jpg image.jpg I was going to put my hydro steer pump on tonight. Supplied bolts are too short for my cast aluminum bracket. Pulled 2 threads out of one of the holes on the new pump. No biggie, there is plenty of threads left but it sucks. Decided to switch gears since the bolt store is not an option at late-o-clock. I have the Hydro boost brakes off big yellow & needed it installed so I could tie it into the steering. Turned into this after I found out a whole pedal swap was needed.

Anyone have extra space inbetween there shackles after putting springs on the front? I could use some washers but that seems like rigging a non rigged rig.

OffRoad Design has 1/4" washers to make up for the difference in the hanger & spring width,,, cool. I did not mount my cylinder with the ends parallel. I was going to cut it back off & remount it but I can not tell that it is binding at all. I may just leave it. Been tied up with a few side projects & have not got shit done. I did sell some more goods & order more cool parts though. When I'm done building horse fence & boat docks I'll have plenty of stuff to keep me busy on the Burb for a while. I'm pretty sure someone at ORD is going to retire off of me.

Anyone have a link or info on the deal with "government lockers"? I don't understand why you would need to switch to an open carrier before you went to a true locker? The carrier & locker are one.???

Yes the carrier and Gov-loc are integral. I believe the "Gov" stands for 'Governor'.

A 14 bolt locker will nest inside an open carrier replacing the spider gears.

Ahhh, the Detriots I have delt with in the past have replaced the carrier. Thanks!

New to me information. The pump that came off the Burb had stud bolts in the back, PSE pump had bolts. I swapped them & reused the washers that were on the PSE pump behind the stud bolts. This caused one of the bolts to contact the cylender head. Took the thin little washers out & gained JUST enough clearance. There was something weird about the threads on the bolts too. It's like they were the same, but not. It almost seemed like the zinc plating made the studded bolts fit tight. IDK.

Built a mount for my resivore & it was looking good. Went to tack it on & realized i sat the resivore right on top of my oil fill cap. I gave it a 1/4 turn & tacked it. I'll add a fill peice & a little gusset but it seems it will work well there. There is clearance for the brake components. This will make the feed line for the pump short, direct & to the point.

Boring tonight. Swapping Hydroboost pedal & master. I think I'm on a mission to outboard my rear shocks. Can't wait to get it on a forklift & do some parking lot flexing.

Tried to assemble the lines for my steering & Hydro-boost last night after getting my pedal bracket swapped & the steering column back in only to find out the Hydro-boost fittings are different from my lines. My lines are the O ring style & the booster is flair. Im thinking that someone swapped an older hydro boost into the Big Yellow truck at some point. I bought lines for an 85 & a 90 just to make sure I had the right stuff. Ordered another booster & master. I hope the stud pattern on the new stuff lines up with the pedal assembly I just put in. I do not care to tear the underside of this dash apart again for a while. My shed is cramped & I can only crack the drivers door. I'm waiting to finish the fuel tank fill setup till the 1" body lift shows. My fill tube coming off the tank is touching the bottom of the floor & I don't want to have to (tweak) it if I don't have to. All in all I feel like I accomplished all of nothing for my efforts last night. I recon it had to be done at some point. Next time I build a monster Suburban I will know to check things like fitting compatibility.

Wishing I had just got a traditional cooler or one with double bypass. I'm not thrilled about running 90's in & out of this cooler. Looks cool though, & durable. I read the instructions & there really was nothing mentioned about drain back problems associated with the relation of the cooler to the resivore. I hope it will be GTG. I am now way behind the curve on work in relation to parts. I've got a pile of parts & not enough time. Trying to get out there as much as I can even if it is only an hour & a half at a time.

Added a member to the family yesterday. SWAG's press break kit got me going on getting a press bought. Now I need the break. I've bent steel a few times in the jaws of my vise here lately & am ready to step up. Notice the relation of the Sheetrock seam to the uprights on the press..... That is how much slope my floor has. About 6" in 20'. Enough to where I can not keep the drawers on my tool box closed when it is on the east wall. Enough to where a floor jack can just roll away... Who does that! FNPO's
