As soon as I get this baby to sleep I'll get out & do some thinking about fuel tank mounting. I only have the one factory crossmember. The other one went missing. I even went to war with the wasps in a scrap pile trying to find it. I should be able to position the Blazer tank to where the factory fuel lines will not have to be modified. Also the tank will be protected by the leaf springs. It's going to require a skid plate at some point. Sold my nicest rifle today. Should be able to swing a PSE Hydro steer here soon.

I ended up getting my one factory fuel tank crossmember bolted in lastnight. Sure wish I could find the other factory tank crossmember. It has a nice bend in it to match the shape of the tank & holes for the straps. I hope I have this in the right spot because right now my axle is not bolted in.

Yup. Good stuff. It's so good that I treated them to a coat of paint tonight. Only the best parts get paint around here! Started a simple fuel tank crossmember. Not going to get carried away. Just want it to work. Before too long I want to box the frame & that will change the design on the crossmembers.

I'm having a wheel & tire delima. These TSL's won't last much longer once this thing is running. They are 42" & I love the size but in order for me to justify having this I'm going to need to be able to drive it on the street some, if not drive it to the trail. I live in Nebraska so the trail is a jaunt. I can't decide if I want to try a radial 40" or go down to a 38". I hate being practical. In all reality this will end up being more of an expedition rig than a crawler.

Ha! Yea. There is some family land along the Medicine Creek out in western Nebraska. Also some along the Niobrara up by Valentine. Hope to visit Colorado, Nevada & various other wheeling destinations. This pig needs to pay for itself in family fun & adventure. Big, kickass family fun & adventure.
