8 lug axle information

more newbie questions......

My '74 has a 14 bolt in the rear and what looks like a Dana 44 with 8 lugs up front. Obviosly these weren't stock axles on my K5, so where do I go to learn about tearing them down and rebuilding them? I would rather not screw something up by just taking my impact wrench to them.

How do I know if it's a 14ff or a 14sf ?

the full floater has hubs that stick out w/ 8 bolts holding the axle flange on.

Lets see some pics of your setup, do you have the big hub (early style) dana 44 or the newer style.

yes, mine looks like a FF, but I don't know about the front being new or old style....I will get off my butt and get some pics up soon......I just want to know more about my new baby......rusty baby that is.
