Quick question, can Ford 8 lug outers be used on a Chevy axle? I found a set from a 78-79 Ford for a decent price, its the hubs and rotors, will they work or do I need specifically Chevy stuff? Also, if they will work is there anything else I'll need for the swap?

You would need to swap all the Ford outers onto the Chevy housing. The balljoints are the same.

ford knuckles use a 5 bolt pattern so if the dimensions of the spindle is the same you can use ford hubs and bearings on chevy spindles. but i dont know that.

So does that mean I would have to have Ford knuckles and spindles too or just the hubs and rotors?

You would need to use the Ford knuckles, caliper brackets, spindles, bearing hubs, rotors, dual piston calipers, and wheel bearings. Im not sure about the stub shafts, there are several variations of each. All the info is in the link posted above, the keylime site ran by Mr.N, he has researched all the variations of Dana 44 fronts.
