8 lug D44?

there is a guy near me selling a truck with no motor, so I took a look at it thinking the axles might be usable. it's got 37" TSL super swampers in pretty good shape and a 14bff out back with a "detroit locker" in it.

here is the question though. up front is a D44 (I think) with 8 lug ends on it. is this 44 any different than the one I have? (other than the number of lugs obviously)

it's got 4.10 gears in it, which isn't as low as I want to go, but if I can pick the whole truck up for less than $1000, sell off a few items then junk the rest, I might be able to get some decent axles for pretty cheap.

Its a 3/4 ton. Same axle. Different hubs.

Swap axles then sell it.

what he said, but i would probably want to pop the diff cover before purchase to make sure it has a detroit. if not that'll help drive down the price. you could also jack it up and spin the wheels to see if it locks up.
