I have been getting all kinds of crazy looks from friends when I asked this and figured someone on here might know the answer. I am trying to make my 72 blazer with 8in lift fit on a auto transport. the problem is that with the big tires it sits to high. does anyone know if a 16in 8 lug trailer wheel and will fit on a 14b. The difference between now and if the trailer wheels fitting is about $600 in transport that I would save. Any help you all can give would be great and thanks in advance.

Sounds like you just need a smaller tire and a wheel with more backspacing, correct?

Find some original GM or whatever 16" wheels and put some small car tires on them. A few members here have done that to get their trucks in the door. I remember one even had such small car tires on that his 14FF only had an inch or so worth of clearance under the diff.

Not sure if you already solved this or not, but dodge 16" steel wheels fit also, sometimes you can find them for next to nothing on CL. I have a set for rollers with bald 205/50-16's on them, narrows the truck a few inches and the 14FF is so low you can't get a floor jack under the diff :haha:

Anything except a new (as in the last 15 or so years) Ford will be fine. 8 on 6.5 is what you want.

Fords went metric with the superduty in 2001 I think.

So any ford Pre 01 is good to go.
