Howdy.

Long time lurker first time poster.
Doing my first build, bit of a Frankenstein truck, with a 1980 body, an 88’ frame, and a 455 olds.
Powertrain is all put together, and we’re moving towards getting the body on the frame. One question (maybe a dumb question) I have that I’ve had some difficulty finding an answer to: do you buy body mounts that are meant for your the year of your frame or your body?
Thanks all.

Body

Buy the body mounts for the frame - it’s the hole size in the frame brackets that dictate which bushings, the body is just flat and doesn’t care.

This is if it’s a square body frame since it’s an ‘88. If it’s not a square body frame then “go fish”.

Sorry I should have clarified. Body is an 80 blazer, frame is from an 88 blazer. Thanks for the info

There were some frame shape changes that coincided with floor changes but I believe that was before’80 (not sure).

Floor changes were in 78 so the frame should work.
I spoke too soon on the mounts, you're right the frame dictates the size of mounts.

Lets see some pictures of the Olds swap. A friend has one jn a ‘76 C10 and its awesome.
