80 jimmy build updated 12/20/12

Holy hell mang, congrats on the sweet score. :waytogo:

Its awesome that you got it from a good friend and kept it civil. Obviously there's a lot of emotions that could get stirred up.

Id say, in return for the super low score price, you owe him....

1. Case of his favorite beer
2. Truck borrowing privlidges for life
3. camping trips where you drive.
4. You totally offer to help move if he ever needs it.

although if your friends you'd probably do all that in any case

Karma is satisfied. :D

and just to reinforce the point.....

we all hate you :eek1:

Yea I always help him out. I didn't need a truck it was more to help him out and I told him I would buy it before I knew about the motor or axles just to help him out. I thought it was a run of the mill high mile engine 10 bolt deal.

Yep,.. some youngsters just don't know the durability of these older K5's,..but damn to score for 1Grand,...thats a real dandy deal. Congratz man.

So do you have any goodies left from your old blazer project to put on this? Or did you get rid of everything?

I have a 14bff with a anti wrap bar so I might swap the bar. I have 2 sets of brand new 64"s one 4 pack one 5, good pair of 56"s. Two good fenders a hood and a np208. Nothing I need. Anyone need any of that stuff?

so started work on my suspension tonight. got a piece of 1/2 wall (.50) wall box tubing to use for the front hangers to run my 52s up front. i bought the back hangers to run 56s but i have 52s laying around. welded the cross member up and welded the hangers on. still need to weld my gussets. mocked up the 52s, seems to work good. also running diy4X 7.25 shackles. im going to do the other side tomorrow. also bought DIY4X shackle flip, thats next

Why didnt you cut your square tub to length? :dunno:

I want it long enough to weld a gusset on but I am going to cut off the excess. In hein sight I should have cut it just leaving 2" or so for the gusset and saved a 8" piece. You have to use tubing because you can't weld the hanger to the frame. The bottom of the frame is narrower than the hangers
