'80 K10 "BLUE"

This build is dedicated to my Dad who passed in 2015. 1980 K10 SWB 350/TH350 3.73 NP205. It is now powered by a 383 Stroker w/Vortec Heads @450h.p. Originally GM Red WE5864 but later painted Dark Blue WA5788. He purchased this truck in central Il in the mid 80s at a place called Kincaid Kars. The truck had been Ziebart Rust Protected which required holes to be drilled in the cab. Being an Il truck this was the worst possible idea which resulted in even worse rust issues than if it was left alone. I am rebuilding this truck with one of my daughters whom absolutely loves this squarebody. The goal is to have it finished by May of next year when she can drive all by her lonesome. February 2020 build start. Stay tuned.

Picked up a donor about a year before this started. Had to have AC. Blue was windows down and in Fl summers that sucks.Got it dirt cheap and needs minor work to the cab. Made some money back selling the rolling chassis.

Day8 or so: Work as it does so often got in the way so we had to halt progress for a bit. The drive is nice and clean now. All the tools put away. Pieces and parts have all been bagged and tagged. This was pretty much the last thing we did. Will soon be at it again.

Have them out there pushing chassis around like mules It has been more fun that I could imagine. They want to see it back on the road as much as I do. Its Grandpas truck!!

While tearing Blue down it had a story to tell. Sometime before my Dad purchased the truck it had been wrecked on the front passenger side. I dont know if he ever knew that or not. The paint had started to peel on the radiator core support revealing it had come off a Solar Yellow pickup. Quit the nice color probably Corvette yellow. It also had an aftermarket fender.
