my friend is buying a 87 chevy truck with an 8000 lb warn winch on the front. he has lots of money and said he would give me the winch if i bought him lunch. The thing is, will this winch be even worth bolting up to the blazer or will it just brake as soon as i use it?

It will break. Go ahead and buy him lunch and send me the winch. I will put it on a Suzuki, it might hold up on a vehicle that light.

i have an 8000 on a k15, the warn jobber, fast as sh!t.
i have no problem. winch ratings are a joke, who the hell needs a 15000 lb winch. if you got that "stuck" that you need to pull down all the trees in front of you as you go, then you shouldn't be in my precious woods. the warn 8000 is nice, but it's ugly, fastest one on the market and unchanged in design since like '53. the only thing is to make sure that the solonoid pack is working cause that gets tricky to fix. but the motor can be rebuilt by any alternator shop for 30 bones.
