'81 K30 3+3 short bed Dmax/allison build= making the plans

Actually the 78-79 ford Hp dana 60 are easy to find ( at least in my experience) but you got to $$$$$$$$$ pony up $$$$$$$$$$. If you want to really nice set up leaves. a set of Deavers or Alcans can be custom made to your truck, combine with some Quality Shocks and your set.
I just looked at both of their websites. This just might be the way to go. I hate the way my pro comp springs ride in my K5, so that is what steered me towards a Dodge coil suspension, along with the driver drop issue of course. This would save me a LOT of time and money, I assume a Ford D60 is the same width as the GM 60, so I could keep the rear 14BFF too. I would think a 14BFF could stand up just fine behind a 550HP Dmax playing around on the street and towing here and there.

Refer to the Dana 60 bible... Ford and Chevy are within 1/2" of spring mounting pads.
Ford 31.5"
Chevy 32"

Once you get a solid weight of the truck and the axle call those guys up and have them make a set up. Knowing the weight of the sprung and unsprung weights they can tune the springs for a great ride, then add a set of 7100 bilsteins( or like high end shocks) and I think you would be completely happy with it.
I quoted them both a while back and two front springs WITH military wrapped ends were $600.

Both places build high quality springs .

A 14b will easily hold 550hp.
