a friend of a friend is gonna rebuild my tranny and I'm surfing the web for parts, but I don't know if I have a TH350 or TH350c. it's an 81 K5 with a 208 t-case

no electrical plug. any other way to tell? I need a new torque converter but all the sites say 1981 has TH350c

Don't remember the numbers , I'm googling it now . I know the case is different , the input shaft is splined different so you can't stick a non lockup from a th350 on it , and the valvebody is different .

I've been online searching trying to get answer's, but most of the sites I come across are for hotrod cars. I heard that the TH350c was put into cars in 80 but it wasn't in the truck til later

Is it out of the truck?

Do a search online for pictures of the input shaft of an "early" OD GM trans, and one of a TH350 that isn't lockup.

AFAIK all early GM lockup transmissions had an extra "snout" with a check ball on the input shaft, while non-lockup the same vintage did not.

Heres some pics from the web :

I just peaked under again to look for that electrical plug - nothin there, so it looks like I have a non-lockup TH350
