I agree with the locking fasteners. Also 'Dead soft' aluminum or copper gaskets. I replaced gaskets four times before finally buying a set. Shoulda done it in the first place.

lol, you guys are awesome. It would be great to get some help in person, but i know thats a little hard for most of you. but you guys have been awesome with helping me as much as you can :waytogo:

I have seen rescue parties mounted, debt collections done, and parts shipped from all over to get a race car fixed in time for a race.

We diagnose diseases, forecast storms, and look out for each other.

Strangest bunch of people on here you will ever meet. They actually care for each other, and some are total strangers to each other.

I kinda live in fear of one of us hitting the lottery really big. I'm afraid they would throw a party and pay everybody's way there.

You get this bunch together, and we would probably just wind up creating our own country........

UhOh, Gotta go. One of the possums is back, and he is facing my cat down on the front video camera.

Never mind, cat just ran him off. Thats OK, I will have some spare time tomorrow, and I will be rigging up a surprise for old Didelphis virginiana.

Just got to get another video camera setup to cover the cat feeder so I know when to trigger the neon transformer........

I know it may seem a little cruel, but its better than shooting them.

That would be a pretty awesome party though! I have found that I spend more time on here now reading everyones posts and responding to posts than I used to on facebook. my kind of people. :woot:
 
Need be i can bring a set of headers while up in Medford. Salems only like 2 hours from there. Probably end of the month or so.
 
I have used this here before, but most folks don't get the reference. Deuling does, and a couple of others, but not many.

Even if you read SciFi, its probably before your time.

But this place is the closest to Spider Robinson's Callahan's Place I have ever met in real life.

I remember 25..........I think........

I was in Orlando getting one of my engineering degrees. That may have been the year of the meteor storm.

Almost certainly the year we converted a guy's 350 from an 8 cylinder to a 7 cylinder to get him home.
Plus it was the year I had to throw a guy off the second story balcony because he would not leave me alone, we put nitrous on Alan's Camaro, rebuilt Marty's transmission in his living room, I crashed the main computer at the campus in Tampa, and one of the guys living next door to me in the apartments committed suicide by drinking a pint can of Raid..........

Interesting year.........

I get that a lot. But heck, feel free to ask for an explanation. I can make most of the sane parts understandable.

Of course sometimes...........

We were sitting around the fire at the hunt camp during Christmas, and I had a deep train of thought going.
There is a competing theory of one of Einstein's that seems to clear up some discrepancies.

I have been considering it, and trying to come up with a way to test which is right with no luck.

I'm afraid its not going to pan out, which is a shame because it would allow faster than light travel without all the drama.

Baitfish2 saw me zoned out, and asked me what I was thinking about. I still had my mind on the idea I was running down, so without realizing it, I told him.............


I looked around, and everybody there was staring at me. I hate it when that happens...........

Yeah, it was fun. I have posted a few stories about that time that I feel is safe to post.
I think statute of limitations is up on pretty much everything during that time now........
But the school might still try to come after me for the cost of the sprinklers.
And I understand its still against the rules to chase Armadillos on campus.
And a friend who lives in the area says the nuts holding the water tower up are still all torqued down.

The place has grown so much now, most of the evidence is gone now. They tore down the old dorms, so I suppose all the pieces of.......Never mind. They are gone now anyway......
 
First order of biz would be to check the tighness of all the bolts at both ends. The collector and at the head. Do this the same time u are checking for leaks. Headers are prone to losening up over time especially at first so if u replace the gaskets u will need to recheck a few times at first.
If after tightening the gaskets are smoked and u need new ones buy em then.
I like felpro gaskets for the head to header and try some dead soft al for the collector. I have also had success with copper rtv at the collector. Cheaper too. Never had luck with it at the head though.
 
I like to use the mr gasket aluminum gaskets for the header and collector. They are thick and squeeze into place when you tighten the header and collector down. I check them every few days forba couple weeks to make sure the bolts are tight and then they are usually good. Welcome to ck5 and the addiction starts now. Lol
 
Its like crack. I'm surprised they havent jacked up the cost yet.:flipoff7:

I joined a few years ago just to be able to see pictures... But somehow I'm still here.
