Great opportunity for a restoration. I bought these two truck with the intention of doing a body swap and having a beautiful truck to drive around.
When I was around 14 I wanted a K5 diesel Blazer. I learned to drive in an 82 K1500 diesel Suburban and I loved it. Finally, at 40 I had the opportunity to build my dream truck I came across two K5 Blazers that just needed to be combined to make my dream come true. I have had these trucks for about a year now and have not had time to work on them. Now my wife is expecting and a 2 door truck will not be feasible with the car seat so with a heavy heart I have to part with my dream.
First is a 1982 Chevy K5 Blazer with a 6.2L Diesel. This truck is rusted all over and the body is shot. Engine will turn over, but it need an injector pump. I have a new injector pump just waiting to be put in. Has what I believe is a 3 inch body lift. Has factory aluminum bullet hole rims. Odometer shows 93000 , but I am sure it is higher than that. Properly maintained these old Detroit diesels ran for 500k miles and were good for upper 20s fuel mileage.
New the truck was fully loaded power windows, door locks, cruise, ac, the works. Back glass has been knocked out of it. The removable fiberglass top is in good shape and has sliding windows. You could fix the pump and drive it like it is but I would be afraid you would fall through the floor if you hit a couple of good bumps.
It was originally Midnight Black, however, some genius had the bright Idea to rattle can it black.
Has clean NC title signed by previous owner.
Next is an 86 K5 Blazer with no engine trans or transfer case. Light damage on front end. Body is in terrific shape. Very little surface rust. No major rot anywhere. Fiberglass room is showing its age. Interior is in descent shape. Again this truck is fully loaded, power windows, door locks, ac, cruise, tilt wheel. All the windows and locks work. Originally a 350 automatic truck. Previous owner removed drive train before I bought it. Body is in amazing shape and is the only reason I bought the truck. Passengers door has a dent from where the previous owner tripped and fell head first in to it. Has 4 nice rally rims.
Clear SC title signed by previous owner.
The plan was to do a frame off restoration on the 82 and put the 86 body on it. I also have a good hood and a tube grill for the truck.
Now my loss is your gain. I will sell both for $1200 With some elbow grease and time this would be a beautiful truck that any one would be proud to own.
