Right behind where I live there's a 82 Suburban & I finally was able to track down the original owner and found out he doesnt have any plans for it so I asked what he would take for it. He wants $400 for the lot. The motor is shot but everything is intact and operable. Should I or Shouldn't I? It looks rugged & could use a once over with a paint job but I have yet to further inspect it and see what else could be wrong and need attention.

.......................................................................................If the truck isn't rotted to hell, and you either have a motor to swap in it or can get one cheap, why not buy it??...an older vehicle might be emission exempt where you live, thats a plus!..and the old trucks have more style and are ruggeder too.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................for 400 bucks around here, you dont get much,I lucked out when I found my Burb...just wish I could get the cash up to register it and USE it some ,before rust takes it...all it needs is a 700R4 or a tranny swap to something else,it runs & drives but reverse goes away after it gets driven 20+ miles and OD wont shift in most of the time...I bought it with intentions of it just being "parts" for my plow truck, but after seeing it was still pretty solid underneath and it runs good (6.2 in it),I decided to hang a plow on it and use it for my next plw truck,my pickup is getting pretty rotted now and probably wont last much longer...its already "borderline" for on-road use, pretty soon it'll be just a "yard truck"...
But I told him I would give him some scratch for it,..because he was basically going to just scrap it,..so I think it would worth having around for parts.
