Since I was a kid I wanted a Diesel Blazer. I had kind of given up on finding one. I had 95 S10 Z71 that I had picked up for scrap that had no motor or grill and bumper for sale. A guy called and told me he would give me an 82 K5 with a 6.2l and $100 for the S10. I nearly jerked his arm off getting the keys.
It is rough and has a lot of rust but is sitting on a (I think)4 inch lift and has a bad injector pump. It has changed hands so many times in the past few years without being titled I had a friend of mine who is a cop run the VIN and it all came back clean.

My neighbor is a diesel mechanic who owes me money so I am going to get him to fix the motor for what he owes me.

Here is the Blazer when I brought it home.

Lots of rust. Nearly no floor on drivers side. And at some point some genuis painted the whole truck lights glass and all.

At midnight last wednesday I came dragging in with my latest Craigslist prize. It has no drivetrain, but I only want the body. I figured the truck would have rust somewhere but this one is surprisingly rust free. Has one small spot of surface rust on the tailgate and the drivers side rain gutter has some. Other than that the body is great.

Now I need the rain to let up so I can do a body swap and get the good body on the diesel chassis. Oh yeah and maybe a small crane to lift the body with.

I sold the ugly wheels off the black truck last night. It was cold and sleeting and I just wanted to get my butt off the cold ground and get back in where there was heat. About the time we got finished putting the Blazer wheels on the other guys truck the sleep had changed to rain.

Now the poor thing is sitting on wheels off a Caprice in the back yard swamp. I am going to run the rallys off the white truck. I am really excited to get going on it.

My wife is already calling it her truck.

nice score!! cant wait to see some progress. whats the overall plans for it?

For now plans are to make it a nice weekend driver. Right now we have two work trucks that we work the crap out of and they show it. It would also be nice to have a truck to make trips in that hasn't been sweated in for 4 years. Honestly my suburban can get a little rank in the summertime. Her S10 is too small for me to be comfortable in so this Blazer should be a great driver.

Nice score man. Amazes me when folks talk about body swaps as just something to do. I can't even contemplate something like that right now. Good luck and we like pictures!

Nice score. Too bad you weren't closer, I could use a better gate for mine....lol. Keep us updated.
