There is not any. as soon as i hit 5 post i will post a pic on the engine compartment. it had it but the owner before me ripped it out.. I am sure there is a thread on here somewhere for replacing it but i have searched and turned up nada. Any help is welcome including a link to a thread on here with the info:confused::laugh::confused:. I have to do something soon it was 104 here today.

Are you saying there is zero A/C equipment and you want to put it back?

I hear you on the heat, this stuff is nuts. Just got my fan back to working (4x overlooked vacuum hose), Mon & Tue was brutal.

In the interim of getting it fixed, there's a redneck way to keep cool. Small (2-5 gal) cooler, no lid, lots of ice & a little water. Clip a cheap Walmart cig light fan onto the side and aim it at you. Mini swamp cooler.

I just finished getting the AC in my 73 hooked back up so I could help you out a little bit. Mine was a factory AC truck too and I got lucky that the firewall box was still in tact. That houses the evaporator on the engine side and the heater core on the passenger compartment side. I started by taking both sides of the box out and replacing the heater core and re-sealing everything (the evap core was in good shape). After that I sourced a condensor and some AC compressor mount brackets at the junkyards and bought a compressor from the Auto Parts store. I have a thread somewhere about the mounts and what they look like if you search threads started by me.

Once I got the condensor and compressor mounted, I took it to an AC shop, they put in a new drier and ran custom lines for me and charged the system. It runs freakin great now and I couldn't be happier.

All in all, it cost me around 1000 bucks to get it going again though.

Also, vintage air makes a pretty cool kit you can use in place of the factory stuff that I think goes for around 1300 or 1500 bucks and would be alot easier than sourcing factory parts.

It had ac. Missing compressor, pipes maybe a few other parts that I have not seen yet

BTW, LMC Truck also has really great diagrams of the components so you can see what you might be missing.

Finlay i can post pics.. here is what there is under the hood the rest of it is in tact.

Yes i know i need to clean it up and there is other work but my wife only has a week to 3 weeks left at her job and she drives a company car so i am going to loose mine to her and have to drive this.

I just put my A/C back in as well for the summer. It cost me about 1000$ to do it all, and i stuck with R12 for the refrigerant. I got the compressor, new hoses, orifice tube, condenser, and accumulator from rock auto. Installed everything and took it to a Ac shop to flush and pull a vacuum and charge. Works perfectly and I'm glad i spent the money to replace everything. If you are going to spend the effort to replace it and recharge it, I would buy everything new.

Okay so i got all the parts.. or so i thought.. i can not find the brackets. i thought i had them but cant make heads or tails of how it mounts up i think i am missing something.. Could someone snap a photo of there set up so i can see what it should look like....

Also just did a bunch of front end work now it is drivable....

Did you put in an a6 (log compressor) or the Sanden (pancake) compressor?

Pancake.. If anyone knows of other trucks i can take off and use that would be helpful.

thanks.

Darn, I have a log and they mount differently otherwise I would post pics. I think they switched to the pancake around 82 so really anything in the generation with a small block and AC should have the brackets you need. I found mine at the JY after months of searching but the newer trucks should be more plentiful.

Ya problem is i can find any..... :dunno::dunno::dunno: Now i dont care if its the big or the small as long as i can find mounts to get it on..

So here is whats under the hood....

What more do i need... the parts i have that i thought would work dont..

I know it looks dirty.. this is a rebuild that got pushed up on the plans. Wife is with-out a ride so i need to get this one cooled off.

I'll take pics of my stuff tomorrow after work...:waytogo:

All of the mounts and hoses are different between the gas and diesel engines, so you'll need to get them off another 6.2 truck. It looks like a new evap box is in order, too.
