8274 Winch Cable Replacement

A friend gave me a new cable and I would like to replace the old one. It appears to be retained inside the hub. How the heck do I get the old cable out?

There is a round piece of plastic on the side of the drum that is held on with two small bolts. Take that off and you will find a bolt holding the cable.
