83 ground up blazer build

Well I have found some time to work on the blazer. Not near as much as I would like, but winter is almost here and I will have a lot more time in the garage.

Got some of the front cage in. :doah: It took forever. Props to those of you that make it look so easy.

Just put the top on and mocked up the fuel cell so I can start on the back of the cage. Also need to put the tranny and transfer back in so I can start on the floor and seat brackets.IMG_1903.JPG

Updates look good. I was wondering the other day if you were still around.

Got a lot of the rear section of the cage done over the last couple of days. Still have finish welding to do and shoot it with a coat of primer.

Thanks guys.:D I am very happy with how it has turned out so far.:doah::D It is crazy how many hours you can quickly rack up working these. My wife says its an addiction.:haha:

After the kids opened presents they got busy playing and I got to work for a while. Added some gussets to the cage and got to try out my christmas present. New HF press. Also ordered some dimple dies got the first 3 small ones this week should get the larger 3 next week. Had to try it out... Put some holes in the gussets, over all the press and the dies worked nicely.:D

X2!!!

When are you wanting to get the whole thing done? You should do the shakedown run at KS rocks so I can be there to see this thing. :D

At the rate I am going it will take about 4 years to finish. Hopefully once the floor is in it will move along faster. I have never done this much fab work before it is kicking my arse. But it should be worth it in the end.

KS rocks is the closest park to me so it will prob be the first trip out. Would also like to go to little sahara.:woot:

UPS man dropped off my seats last night. I ended up going with MasterCraft Sportsman seats, just ordered two buckets for now to see how they would fit. Good thing I did. Originally I was planning on running 2 buckets in back instead of a bench, But after test fitting the seats I think I can only get 1 in comfortably. So for now unless I figure something else out it may just be a 3 seater.
