New to the forums and the ways of the computer. Not even sure of the first step in going anywhere past reading on the forums? Very technically ignorant!
I'm hoping to find a bolt up front spring hanger for the rear axle after swapping in a 1ton dually.
The project truck is a 83 k5. The donor truck is a 73 K30 long bed dually.
I have finished bolting the front on and done. Almost to easy. The rear is 1/2 in. from being complete. After allot of time reading and trying to search forums I thought (first problem) I had all the necessary parts on the donor. Well swapping the rear hangers solved the rear width issue. Now the front hangers on the rear axle needs to go in a 1/2in. on both sides.
There were at one time bolt up hangers made for this conversion that could be bought and links to the page to buy them. I now can't find the posts, which would make no difference any how because the links were dead.
Just hoping someone can tell me were to find these illusive conversion hangers or even specific dimensions to have them fabbed up.
Moving the perches out can't happen do to clearance to the drum and while the rear hanger swap worked beautifully the same swap from one to another does not work for the fronts. Even considered chopping the hangers on the truck now to narrow them up, but the angles of the bracket just don't seem to allow that. Then if it did work the bolt for the leaf wouldn't fit without lowering the mounting hole for the spring do to clearance to the frame. Even furthering the issues of trying to weld the bracket back together.
I'm sure the info is right in front of my face. I have searched the web, forums and even called every lead I could with 0 luck. I'm sorry in advance for making anyone repeat them self's. Just frustrated with my computer skills and the lack of knowledgeable build shops.
