I don't use my half top. Little cold in the winter and rain. I've been thinking of making something out of plywood. Maybe one sheet as a bed cover, hinged in front to another piece bolted vertically to the rubber seal at the back of the cab, with a hole cut in it for a plastic window. Crude but effective. Anyone done or thought of such a thing?

That funny , I w as thinking the same thing last week at work, when i was working on a transit ford mating it to the box that we put on, if you make out of wood then you have to cover it with glass.then paint,to keep the water out.

Hey thanks, that's pretty neat. I did a search, not sure Skyler is still in biz? I have some plywood sitting around, going to try a mockup.

I had the skyler cover I loved it.
I sold it when I parted the k5

I had a skyler as well, also loved it. Only put it on when it rained, otherwise it was nekked. They are no longer in business, so second hand market is only place to find them (or take photos to a boat upholstery shop and have them make something similar).

It would take more then a 4x8 pc. Of plywood. It like 53" w x 6' long.you might try a tanneau cover for a short bed, then you need for the back window, I would make it bigger, now the reg. Cabs seam. Small .

So paul what do you need, make it like a avalanche, back window comes out, top comes off,or just one big part ,that takes 2 to remove,,
