83 k5 rear seat

Does the rear seat slide back? or can you mount it about a foot back? any suggestions?

No and no, there is a step in the floor pan.
Sliding back would be like a hospital recliner, where the foot rest slides out but the back stays put.

They don't slide. Technically, you can mount them anyway you want, but AR K5 is right, the step in the floor would make it awkward to sit in. You would also probably lose the fold-n-tumble feature. And I THINK on mine, the armrests might interfere with the wheel tubs by moving it back.

Anyway, seems like a lot of trouble. What would make you want to move it back?
