'83 K5 tailgate question

I'm the one looking for a gate but wondering if there is another tailgate, pickup or other otherwise, that would have the same outside shell that could be welded to my inside. My truck has only been up here in the rust belt for ten years out of Houston and is still nice no rust, but the outside is damaged with creases and would be near impossible to make right again. After getting the dent out away from the window mechanism, everything inside still works, put the new window in today and it went up with no problem. This is a great truck with a 340 hp 350 crate engine with high-rise aluminum Edelbrock intake and carb, new trans, dual Flowmaster exhaust, and the old 31X10.5 snow-biters. She still looks great and I'll be posting some pictures as soon as my camera is fixed, and will be getting new paint soon. Any help appreciated

Nope it has to be a blazer gate .The pickups go in too far in the middle and they are just a totally different shape . Maybe some one on here has one close to you or go to Carpart.com They will find one close to you with condition and price .Good luck
