'83 K5 with 305 auto

Anyone have any ideas...the last two times I've driven my Blazer it has stopped running after it warmed up (10 minutes)and then will not restart until it totally cooled down. Now it won't start at all. My buddy suggest replacing the pickup coil. thank you for any advice!!
