I stopped in & asked about a parked '84 C30/Diesel and it's all still very intact(it's actually just been a catchall storage bin). I initially stopped in to ask about the winch bumper, but once I took a look at it,it has the 6.2/SM465/NP205,..w the 14 bolt rear & Dana 60. so just waiting to see if the elder lady wants to sell the whole rig or if she'll just let the winch bumper go.

My question is,...if I was to offer her a negotiable price for the whole vehicle, what is a good starting bid? :dunno:

So if it's 4wd then it's a K30. People judge these old trucks by their looks. $1500 if it's a beat up farm truck in rural OR. 2k if it's it great mechanical shape. I'd start somewhere in there. SRW?

Thanks MTBLAZER89: I still have yet to learn why it's been parked all these years,.. I'm sure it's been an engine problem. If I opt to buy the whole ride, I'm mainly interested in the axles & tranny,...and of course what I originally looked at it for,...the winch bbumper. Well now,..I'll get to paying a visit abit more & see what happens. I know some of the older folks tend to hold onto their old trucks due to sentimental reasons...

Around here square bodies go for about $1000-1500 in running condition. I paid 900 for my 84 stepside that had a cracked fuel hose and would die if you let it idle to long, other than the fact that it was on 35's with factory gearing it was mechanically sound.

I wouldn't offer more than $1000 for a non-running truck.

I paid $800 for a '87 Silverado K5 that had a bad tranny.
But I still ended up paying extra $(towing, another tranny[+labor for help to take out n put tranny back in],brake job,new fuel pump, transfer of ownership,). I figure I forked out an additional $1500... these hobby's get spendy...
