84 Crew Cab Build

I planned on bending up another tube bumper for the rear, but I was able to trade my brother for his bumper(which happened to be the one I had on my Blue truck) which now has a 8000lbs warn winch. One of my friends has an 15000lbs winch on his trailer and wants a smaller one. He told my brother he would trade straight across. I still hope he will do it with me.:D

I also had the bed painted to match the truck. I traded a nitrous kit a while back for it. Just finally got it painted. Some pics after it was painted and one of it how it sits now.

I also plan on machining a billet tailgate cover with my dads business name milled into it. Have it anodized black then mill off the anodizing where the letters are.

Some of the other things in the works are a LS 6.0 and 4L80 swap. I am going to modify the wiring harness my self and I am going to buy HP tuners so I can program the stock computer. I am planning on a big cam like the TR 224-112 specs are 224-224 duration and .563 lift[FONT=Verdana, Arial, sans-serif]. Some 3/8" chromoly pushrods and comp cams valvesprings. Maybe mill the heads for more compression. Also a higher stall converter for the 4l80.

The reason for going with a 6.0 instead of the big block I have now is I swapped out the cam and intake on it and it just didnt seem like it had the power I thought it would. So to help it out I was going to mill the heads to bump up the compression, install a fuel injection kit, and maybe a bigger cam. With the 6.0 I get an aluminum headed, roller cammed, and fuel injected motor. And they usually have a 4L80 attached to them. It also pretty easy to bump up the power on them. 400Rwh (on a car) is not to hard to do. A friend of mine can get them for pretty cheap with low miles on them. So for the sale price of the Big Block, 700r4, and Np205 I can pay for the LS motor and trans and all the additions to the motor.

Also a full interior cage and rock sliders.
I have all the Autometer guages but the speedometer for it. Wasnt sure if I was going to use a Electronic or mechanical speedo. Decided on the Electronic just need to buy it and the VSS adapter from Dakota Digital dash.

Updates will come as things are added.

There's a 2wd dually with that exact paint job around here.
My dad originally built it as a work truck so he had it painted with the scallops. I like it one day and hate it one day. If I change it I will just go solid red, but its here to stay for now.

Here are a few interior mods.

My dad installed leather power lumbar seats out of a newer ford explorer and had the rear seat recovered in leather.
I added a console seat out of a newer chevy pickup.

I also waterjetted some lower door panels and and some door panels pieces.

holy hell man what a nice job. its coming along so fast.
All of this has been done over the past year and a half, so it is coming along. Not as fast as I would like it though. It was suppose to go to Easter Jeep Safari in 2008, then Blazer Bash 2008, then Easter Jeep Safari 2009 which I dont plan on going to. Next is Blazer Bash 2009 which I would love to go to and should be doable.

Ever since I started building my blue truck I had this idea of a Crew Cab shortbed, but I had a regular cab and no need for the extra seating. So I knew exactly what I wanted when I started it where the blue truck I just winged it. I also learned alot on the blue truck of what not to do.

man i cant wait to start another build. but i just moved into another place so money is tight.

what front seats are in the pic.. they look comfortable. i like the aluminum parts and i can't wait to see how they hold up off road. very nice truck and a very nice build as well. keep up the good work

that's one very pretty Crew Cab... i really like the line between functional and good-looking...

The seats are out of late 90's early 2000's Ford Explorer.

Here are some pics of the 208 adapter plate.

Its a 2 piece design so I could save on material cost. I am also not sure what length I will need when I do the 4L80 trans so If its to short I will only need to remake half of it. I also rotated it up so its up inside the frame for a flat belly.
