84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
Neither of you read.. and no not squirrel... next year..

Yes squirrel. You were doing one thing (6.2 stuff). And then you were doing another thing (LS swap). And then you were scrapping those plans entirely (Dodge). And now you're changing things up yet again!

Definitely squirrel, no doubt about it.

I saw no shirts. Just lots of not making up your mind. Including your bronco prerunner.

@campfire check back, you only get part of the story, most of this is driven by finances. I won't make a decision I couldn't live with, hence the back track. The 6.2 only started giving me problems recently which prompted me to want to change it. The 5.3 was the cheap option. Why would I stick a turbo on a motor with 300k then put my Prerunner( not a bronco) behind it then trust it?
The cummins is nice, ideally that's the direction I'd like to go I just can't afford it. At least not right now. Just like you wanting better suspension, you want your cake, but you don't want to pay.. simple :)

I needed all the small crap I already fixed on Ethel.. I figure why do it again twice and to a 2wd.. Ethel hauled the family just fine out in the dirt.

So you are still going for a 5.3 swap? Is a 6.0 or 8.1 an option? Either way, I'm glad to see she's going to stay. Molested or not.

5.3 yessir I'll stick with the small cam and tube plan just to wake it up some. As it's well known they make stupid power pretty easy. This will mean a gear swap for sure because the 4l80 has such a tall first.

The other thing is the 4l80 I was thinking should be better because the ratio splits arent so jacked up like a 4l60.. so I'll gear it down to help it as much as possible towing at 55 in 3rd. I think 4:56 or 4:88 with these 33 inchers would put me around 2400? I'll have to check one of those gear calcs

So when the converter unlocks is should add a few hundred rpm depending on my stall speed.

Sent the dodge back. We went out to JV today and it changed my mind, Ethel has to stay, wife's orders. So I'll keep with the Ls swap plan for now and stuff that in there next year sometime..
yea yea.. I know I know I changed my mind again...

We might have to let you stay around here now....
