Hi Guys,

Update!!
lol so I am learning really fast about ls swaps with this.. considering I seem to take the hard and expensive route with most of my projects.... I bought the ecm and harness seperate, well the harness doesnt have the provisions for the AFM which Ill have to add later, and the ECM i bought was an e78 which does not plug into my harness and has some advanced torque strategy for tuning.. my brain hurts from reading about it.
So along the way I got quoted 700$ to get tuned and unlocked. While I dont think that is unreasonable I cannot afford that right now. So I bought the tuning software instead from a friend of mine really cheap. Hp tuners should do what I need. But now I get to read all about that. Thank God its pretty good and intuitive.
I bought another ecm from a 2009 1500 silverado without knowing that VVT was not available in trucks until 2010 yay.. guess I just have great luck. I am hoping I can just enable that feature and populate the tables... well see.
I also have come to a semi solution for the VSS problem. Scott and I have been digging pretty deep for this, we think that the Dakota Digital signal generator that creates the 128k ppm should work with my mech speedo output and feed the ECM directly. the other option is to get one of their 4160 converters and the "box" they sale to bring that back to 4kppm..
so for now I wait some more from ebay for my stuffs to arrive. I have already received my starter which is tiny.. wow! and the throttle body..

Hopefully you got HP tuners with a token available, otherwise its 100 bones every time you connect to a new ecm.

OK i just bought the last major round of parts! Bolts, AA clutch slave mount, extension housing, fuel pump and reg, O2's and lots of other goodies.
My Hp tuners came with 10 credits, I did find out that the 2009 1500 5.3 silverado tune does have all the provisions for the VVT/DOD that I wanted. Ill post some pics of what I end up changing. I am pretty excited now!

Yes I have the flex fuel injectors, and I might play with that at a later date. And @bent72 i am waiting for the fuel pump etc to fire it up. Plus the harness needs to have power etc spliced in.
Nice, those are bigger injectors then normal and will be really nice to have.
