84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
For anyone doing this hydro conversion. Swap the friggen fork before you put the damn trans in the truck, the nv4500 is bigger and heavier and sucks more ass to wrestle on asphalt than the 465 does.. also cut a really long hole in the center hump to allow the trans a good entry angle to help the pilot bearing alignment with the input shaft.. ughh so beat now.. took me 3 hours to pull, replace the fork and reinstall this bitch.. fml so over manuals now..if it wasn't bolted up it would be for sale.. dammit!

So here is the big differences in the fork. The hydro fork is basically flat compared to the mechanical fork. Left is 1984 and right is 1986 both are sm465 forks from Napa.

No I forgot that Napa ordered it, they forgot to call me and say they had received it. So I went all gung ho last weekend and realized it was not in as soon as I tightened the last bolt on the bellhousing.. fml

Late night mosh with my buddy Matt, was pretty awesome, played with suspension and swapped rear springs to 200/200 actually slayed some whoops.. for having only 2.5s and bumps with the heavy axles this truck surprises me.. lots of fun..

The real reason for going to hang with matt was his brother has a stash of truck Ls parts, I scored a complete oem intake and maf assembly with a surge tank for the oem radiator should I track one down to use. Along with an oil cooler.
I am working on trying to make it to the local search and rescue poker run in one month. I am going to do some temporary stuff just to make it on the little cash I do have still.. so don't expect perfection! I'll round back after the event and get the proper stuff installed.
Fyi I must be an idiot because it's humid as all hell, I'm getting sick I think and I still am out here sweating my ass off in the garage welding up some @bent72 style quick and dirty trans mount.

I got all my wiring crap only to find out my crimper is not the proper one for the metripak stuff, they require a round crimp for the seals!! Dammit!
I also managed to close the hood and have the cable to the release stop working. So that was a fun 2 hour fight but I got it open.. and removed for now!
Dang nabbit!

What crimper do you have? I've usually use the largest crimper in the tool on the seals and it works good.
