84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
What crimper do you have? I've usually use the largest crimper in the tool on the seals and it works good.
It's the run of the mill weatherpak crimper, not the ratcheting type. I don't remember what brand it is. But there is no round relief for the seal. I actually tried to crimp one kinda making it work and it cut into the seal.. forget rushing this I do not want water ingestion into my new fuseblock..

Removed the failed heater core today, found a few surprises. IMG_3517.JPGI guess this was the rat motel! They even ate the fan blades!

The heater box is in ok shape but I have another box and fan box, that leaves these to rot the rest of their life! I don't mess with air quality..
I found a label on the evaporator box that says ARA, traced that to the now nostalgic AC, http://nostalgicac.com/media/PDF/CK-8087chpu.pdf
The design apparently hasn't changed! So I'll pull the evap out and check the core and see if it's jacked and order a new one and seals for it all before I put it back in.

Just ordered a bunch of stuff, 2012 Silverado radiator and electric fan 34 inch wide with the integrated oil cooler. I have oem oil cooler lines so hooking that up should be a snap, the diesel radiator is 34 inch wide at the core as well so it should be simple to adapt to my core support. And the radiator is actually for a 6.0 truck not the 1500.
I got the oem gates hoses, the dakota digital sen-01-4160 and I am going to convert my tcase back to mechanical speedo for now, because the 241 vss is 95$ !! This was 45$ and I already am over this stupid vss mystery so I am going to try and tune around it.. we'll see, might end up speed density.. not sure yet.

Me neither really. I used to run valvoline or castrol
But shit has got so expensive i can get amsoil for the same price basically.

Does anyone know the size of the nuts on the firewall holding the clutch slave on? It appears to be some metric thread.
Also the same question for the clutch slave.. not sure what size that is either.

They are metric...not sure on the pitch but a 15 mm fits.

Well some of my stuff showed up yesterday!
The waytek order had the wire sleeve and crimpers,

Fyi the metripack is the left and weatherpak on the right. Unless I missed a memo there is something different about how the wire seals crimp or these weather pack crimpers are not for the seals and only for the terminal? Anyone know?

Got my main ecu ignition and a few other pinned into the fuseblock. This is so easy it's silly I didn't know about it before.. there is a lot of little things but once you have the stuff, it's a no brained.. compact water tight.. safe!! I'll never go back!!

I'll be using one buss for switched 12v and the other for constant. The relays are down the middle.
