84 K20 "Ethel" Not an Sbc/NV4500/241C

Semi restoration of a 1984 K20 pickup. 5.3 LS, nv4500, np241c.
Well I changed the pressure line to my steering gearbox and now I cannot for the life of me get this damn thing to bleed.. normally this bleeds super fast.. I don’t have any bubbles in the resi and I have spun the wheel back and forth with the wheels off the ground probably 100 times and pressed the brakes and held both on the bypass etc then did the shutoff and depress pedal deal a bunch of times, some of that did net me some air, but now I see no air when cycling this. I am at my whits end.. I probably have 5-6 hours on this already and I have tried everything short of shoving my shop vac on the resi inlet to pull any air from below.. I have 3 spare pumps I could swap and I am about there.. it worked great prior to changing the hose.. wtf

Decided to tune it in maf only for now, I have the fuel trims within 2% and no knock, the maf is within 1-3% error, my commanded spark is finally what it is actually getting, not sure why it wasn’t before but it’s not pulling as much timing now, I desensitized the knock sensors and I bet that was some of it, the manual trans causing false knock.
Truck runs a lot lot better!

Hmm

I know my NV4500 has some gear rollover noise commonly associated with the ZF5 & ZF6 in fords. Never would’ve thought that’d effect the knock sensors but it makes sense

Mmmm burnouts, you know you want to...

It's so easy with these trucks and a ls, during blazer bash I wasn't sure if the tcase was in 2wd... the tires kept chirping and pulling the front at 15psi, little double foot action and the rear was spinning.

How'd you desensitize? The nv4500 has a ton of noise that sounds like knock. When I drive without the trans tunnel on it, it's even more super obvious noise.
