I just did a swap to a sm465 and 205 and now I can't get my truck to start. I have a neutral safety switch that came with the manual pedal assembly, I had that hooked up and tried to start it a bunch of times and it tried to start maybe once out every hundredth turn of the key but pretty much does nothing. So I thought maybe the switch is bad so I took that off and just twisted the wires together to just cut out possibilities and again nothing. I even decided to check the starter, so I unbolted it then jumped it and it did work like it's supposed to. I get the starter to start by jumping the starter but not by the key, so I'm completely stumped on this. Any and everything is helpful. Thank you in advance.

A while back I had a similar issue. I had a high torque starter from summit that had electrical prongs for different applications. Make sure that even though you jumped it while under the truck, the terminals have the correct polarity

My guess is you disturbed the start switch on the column in your thrash, or pinched a wire bolting everything up.

Start at the starter, make sure the connections are good. Use a test light and work your way back until you find the issue

Found out the problem, the ignition switch was broken something must have happened when I took it out to do the swap. Took it apart and cleaned it and it still didn't try to start so I bought a new one and it worked. Thanks for the advice.
