Looking to replace my 78 chevy 4wd cab with a 85 chevy 2wd cab. Planning on keeping all the 78 fenders, hood, grille, bed, etc. Does anyone know if this will work?

The only part that may give you problems is the center hump. Some 2wd have a small hump.

The front clip is no problem, the only thing you will have to do is remove the cal off the cab... Hood for the 82 is shorter that the earlier models.

plan on body lift to clear the 2x4 pan . thay are one piece in the newer cabs. not bolt in like before.

Thanks for the info. I have started on the project. Not gonna be anything fancy but at least the rust will be gone. Looks as though I will have to cut the floor out for the transfer case in the 83 cab but will use the removable pan if possible from the 78. Will see how it works.

Thanx for the advice.
