I am working on this 454 big block that I took out of a motor home and have a question about an adaptor that the oil filter screws into, the thing that has the two lines coming off that would go to a oil cooler. Well I wanted to remove it and not use it. Soo when I removed it, I was looking at just screwing the oil filter up in its place. Well no dice. It does not have any threading in the middle to do so. Is there something that mounts up there in place of the adapter, or was this block designed to have the adapter for cooler lines ?

The gm part number on the adapter is 14088854

thanks

you have to get a skrew on adapter, has 2 bolts that hold it to the block, then the filter skrews on.

yeah, you want this....

that was just the quickest link that came up... I'm certain Summit has it too...

I tell ya I should have searched instead of asking right off the bat. I actually was coming back here to say I searched and found the info, but you guys are quick and awesome. Thank you !

an oil filter adapter from a gen 1 small block will work as well.

Or leave it on there and run an oil cooler or a secondary filter. Whatever you like.

I am actually putting this motor in my vette and do not need the oil cooler.
Plus less things to worry about leaking. :D
