Before I pulled the engine out I labeled all the wires however that was almost a year ago and now that I'm finally able to work on it some of the labels have worn off.

These ones come out of the firewall about a 8 inches towards the drivers side of the ac/heat stuff. Some of them go through the fire wall and the other's go some where in the engine bay but I don't know where. One is a four pin plug and the other is a two pin both plugs are male.

These ones go to the heat/ac stuff on the firewall. (There is a big mess of tape and wires and these may go into the firewall right beside the heat box not to the box) Two light green connected to one spade (seems to be the inerds of a male plug)
The other is dark green and has a single pin male plug with a female port of to the side. Kinda makes me think the light green ones plugged into the back of the dark green and then they plugged into something.

Also what is this vacuum line for? One very small line goes through the firewall then to a T from the T one bigger line goes across the firewall to a ball on the drivers side bottom corner of the firewall (what's this ball for?) The other is cut.

The ac currently doesn't work but I do plan to fix it some day. And all the emissions stuff isn't important it's primarily off road and Kansas has no emissions checks.

EDIT -Sorry it's kinda hard to see which wires I'm talking about. When i get to a computer i can edit the pictures to highlight the right wires.

the vacuum hose in your hand needs to go to the manifold as it supplies vacuum to the round ball (reserve tank). The small line supplies the AC under the dash. all the vacuum operated doors.

Thanks for your help. Are any of the other vacuum lines important other than the vacuum advance for the dizzy? Most of the vacuum lines were missing/disconnected on the old engine and that canister in front of the washer fluid was rusted out when I got it. Do I need to replace it?

Hope you were able to figure this out. Most of the wires/vacuum lines on the passenger side are for stuff like EGR, exhaust flapper and maybe even the vacuum sensor/switch that plugs into the air cleaner (smog related). You won't need them. The green wire should be 12v with ign on which should plug into the electric choke on a factory carb. The 2 & 4 pin (weather pack style?) connectors also plug into the carb and were early sensors (CA model) or for internal switches (fed) also not needed if you're not smogging. From your description, the rusty can by the washer reservoir sounds like your charcoal canister which is used to recover engine/fuel vapors. You can probably disregard it also.

Since it's an 85, if it had the 5.0 originally you may also find wiring for the electronic timing control for the distributor. If so, you won't need that either.

The vacuum connections you want are manifold for the brake booster, HVAC, and PCV. Timed or manifold (opinions vary) for the dizzy, and if you want to help keep down the smell of gas fumes, go ahead and hook up the line to the charcoal canister, which basically allows the carb to evacuate fuel vapor, since the gas tank vents there. Just plug off unused ports.

The 2 and 4 pin were weather packs but as far as I know it's not a CA truck.

The 5.0 was original but it had a vacuum advance distributor. However the dizzy was not original.

Yeah, I've still got mine, it has a vacuum can on it, but also a weatherpack connector to plug into the little computer under the dash. Probably because 5.0s had higher compression and tended to be detonation prone. It worked alright on my 350, but I wanted simplicity and swapped it out for a standard HEI.

Another Stray wire!

This one comes out of the plug that goes to the oil preasure sending unit. And it's light blue
