A friend is selling this awesome Military truck. It's all stock, specially built as a 4wd aircraft tug, made to haul huge aircraft around sloppy combat air-fields.

Details: 3,000 original miles. 6.2 Diesel/TH400/NP208. Runs & drives like new.

Front & rear 4-link suspension with air-ride. 100% rust-free body.

Here's the best part; front and rear steering axles built by ZF (the German company that builds transmissions for corvettes, Cummins etc). These axles steer hydraulically. They have something like a 4:1 planetary on the axle-ends like a monster truck for super-low gearing. Internal hydraulic brakes all the way around. Rolling on 20-inch rims with 40" military tires.

The truck has a toggle and different steer modes to control the rear axle so it will steer with the front, steer opposite the front, control independently, or stay fixed.

The big "box" behind the cab is actually a SOLID steel ballast weight for traction, probably weighs a couple tons.

I was planning to buy it, remove the balast weight & fab a short diamond plate bed. Truck pulls would be a lot of fun! Located in Upstate NY.

$6,000 B/O

I'll see what I can do about getting some more pics. My friend lives about an hour from me and he's terrible with computers. The suspension doesn't have a ton of travel as it sits, but with a little more lift (bigger air bags) and some modifications it could be more "flexy". The steering angles are amazing.

When you start the truck, the air-ride powers up & lifts the chassis.

Just to give an idea of how tough these axles are -- This last weekend I watched a truck with 72" Agricultural tires on them get the crap flogged out of it without so much as a sweat.

Correction: The axles are actually 5-ton rated. The planetaries make them VERY strong and less prone to drivetrain breakage at the driveshaft, tranny etc.

I'm not sure what he's doing with the truck now. I'll post info. when I get it.

Sure looks like it. My friend must have bought it last week and the P.O. forgot to take the ad down. Sorry about the price difference :doah:, he has lots of vehicles, and I never know where he gets his stuff.
