was wondering what years of seats will fit in my 85 crewcab. 96 chevy buckets and console from pickup. i can get a nice set free. i also have a 93 chevy bench? or should i look for 81-91 suburban front buckets and console,,, thanks

the floor pan is totaly diffrent from 73-91 crew cab to 92-up style.

but some mods thay can go in.

i have a few pics on here someplace ( search my screen name and bucket seats )

i used a set of 88-up reg pickup low back buckets and made a simple frame to fit them to the 73-87 truck.

If you can make a simple tube frame, you can get just about any buckets to work. I got some seats out of a '93 Firebird wreck and made me a tube frame with 1X1 square tube and some 1/8" steel plate and mounted them up using the back hole of the bench seat mounting location because it would line up with the tabs on the Firebird seats. They're more comfortable in the truck than they were in the 'bird!

If you like the big 'ol seats out of the later Subs, you can make them work, but I doubt there are any other seats that will bolt right up, except maybe some of the buckets that came in a vert few of the pickups, starting in about '85 and going to '87, I think. I would think those seats would come pretty close to matching up, but they're probably hard to find.

how big of a difference is it going to be to swap out a bench for buckets...? i'm getting my blazer drug home in the next few days and my vinyl bench is going for the scrap heap... plus i'll have a locking center console... wooo...!

i've done seat swaps in cars before, but never in a C/K truck like ours...

If you get the seats from a Blazer of the same generation as yours it should bolt right in; if you get them from something else you'll have to proceed as described above.

it's kinda funny, i was working on getting the seats out of my blazer and ran into the fact that my bench seat area is 'raised up' on the outer left and right sides of the original bench, and the blazer floor is flat across... so i came up with using the inner two brackets from the blazer seats, and use the shorter parts from the original bench for the outers... i haven't done the swap yet, but plan to soon...

i used 90 suburban buckets, made spacer for inside front mount for each seat. done deal,i wish they were the better seats from a mid 90's suburban though..
