I have orders to Indian Head MD in March and I would like to take my '85 K20 Suburban with. I was burned by brokers coming out here from Virginia so I'd rather go directly with a shipper. It runs and drives with stock tires and no lift, and the dates could be anytime February-April.

Try Uship. I shipped my jeep with a guy on that site. It was great experience and the guy cut me a huge deal because he was driving to where I needed to go with an unloaded trailer anyway.

what about buying a conex shipping container . weld D-rings to the floor and stuff the vehicle and mill stuff in and strap it down . then have a shipping company move the whole box on a reg semi .:dunno:

I went with uship and it is getting picked up at the end of the month. $1500 for the move.

from a guy in the towing world . . . . take lots of pics with date/time stamp before it goes . even the roof .

we just had one picked up and they said we damaged the roof . . . kind of hard for a rollback to damage the roof when it was picked up and hauled on a semi car hauler and they must have had it on the lower row and set the upper row down on it . :doah:

Yea I will, I’ve played the roof game with a rental van before. Granted we got the van lodged in a parking garage, but thats not the point!

Im moving to Knoxville in the fee weeks. I have 3 cars I need hauled. The only one I'm have ing trouble with is my 78 k10 no auto transport wants to touch it.

Any suggestions let me know.

grab some cheep wheels and tiny tires on them to make it lower and less width . like the monster truck guys have to do .

Uship seemed good for me, but a lift and bigger tires will limit which kind of truck it could go on.

you should be able to find someone that will haul that on a open trailer as is. Before you go buy rims and tires try to uship as mentioned already.

I have it posted on uship right now. Hopefully they take it. I have a couple hook ups in town on tires if comes to that.

Good luck on the move. Going to be a hell of an upgrade in some ways and like moving to the stone ages in other ways. If you need help on your way by Nashville, let me know.
I wouldn't mind the stone age, kinda tired of the desert. Can't wait, plus gun and smog laws are great.

So far I've had two brokers fail to get the Suburban moved, and I am working with a third. If they fail I will be taking 10 days of leave, flying back there and then attempting to drive it back. 2500 miles screaming at 60mph, no radio, should be an adventure!.
