So I have this k5, no real need for it but it's rust free so can't get myself to scrap it.
I am considering putting one of the many engines and transmissions I have and sell it as a running k5 but it might be what someone needs as is so I decided to post it here.
I could even sell it with the engine and transmission for cheap if I don't put it in myself.
I have a low miles 89 tbi 350 with a rebuilt 700r4 that I was thinking of putting in.
I will take $1200 for it as is, tailgate has no glass.
I will get some more pictures but here's a few to start.
I can include the engine/ transmission for $800.
Has some 50% 35" tires and axles are the tall 2.73 gears.

Oh I forgot, looks like a/c was gutted in the engine bay, and no condenser but the truck is an a/c truck

Haha. I wish i had the time and space to do a full blown build, would be perfect candidate for a resto-mod. Unfortunately my wrench turning time is pretty limited currently. I was able to convince the finacee that the k5 would be fully functional and she could drive it in a pinch in the winter, bringing home a big project would be a bad move on my part. Appreciate the lookout guys!

Well we see some good deals here from time to time and if you're open to 76-88 as well I will let you know

I would really prefer 87-91 for fuel injection, given I’m going to be daily driving for portions of the year (when weather is nice). But let me know what you run across. Appreciate it!

So Zak has bailed on me a couple of times now but I went yesterday to the storage to take more pictures of it and I checked again for rust and it is clean all over.
Then I get on the hood and look on top of the cab and I was shocked...
Looks like it had snow or a tarp sitting on it for a while plus some screw holes from something.

It's probably not to bad to fix but it is not rust free, so I don't know what to do with it now.
I am going to see if I can fix it and throw an engine in it and sell it as a beater.
It actually a good candidate for a full removable top conversion.

One more bad spot, looks like someone chiseled out a hole and now it's rusting

The gas filler neck and seal are easily replaced via lmc (at least you use to be able to get it, been 15yrs since i purchased it).

like you said, perfect candidate for full vert conversion

I am very interested. I live outside Toronto Canada if you are willing to work with me this is what I’m looking for. Want to do a hard to convertible

Holes in roof are, I think, for a Lund visor. They can still be found. Heck, I've got one in the garage and I'm sure others do to. Not a problem to fill holes or simply place another one on.

I know, you can still see the contour from the faded paint
