There’s not much gap on shroud. It has 37” tires and I believe a 8 “ lift. Don’t know about gear ratio Only overheats when I’m forthHow’s the fan shroud? If you have a body lift then there could be a large gap between the shroud and fan blades. Do you have oversized tires and gears that weren’t changed to compensate them and now the engine is struggling? Post your tire size and gear ratio. Your speedometer will be considerably off by a percentage if they don’t match.
350 with 4 speedList the specs of your K5 so we know what your working with. I’ll assume 700r4 trans.
Possibly the trans is slipping and overheating. Driving up the coolant temp.
What size tires? Do you know the gear ratio?350 with 4 speed
Those are large tires. And it sounds like you have a 700 R4 transmission with overdrive, which hates heat. You need to pull the rear diff cover and check the stamping on the ring gear. And if you plan on using 4WD you need to check the front diff cover to make sure it matches the rear. Often times the PO only does the rear and puts the front gears on the to do list and it never gets done. There’s not much gap on shroud. It has 37” tires and I believe a 8 “ lift. You didn’t answer the question about the speedometer. Is it reading significantly slow?
Several ways to check it, one way being driving next to a friend whose going 60mph and note your speed. Or you could use a GPS app on your phone.
Exactly!Probably a number of things. Can you post some pictures?

Exactly!
And now we’re getting more (minor) details about the mods since it’s no longer a stock motor. Wonder what else has been done.![]()
