I has one! I bought Mr. Boyds rig (henboyd).

Thing runs great, The motor has been warmed up (internally) a bit. Drove it 3 hours back to the house, zero issues.

Look good!..350 with a 700R4?...

My '85 Burb is almost the same two-tone paint too, dark blue & silver with the red pinstripe!..

I gotta get me a camera so I can post a picture of it and some other stuff I'd like to post up on here..mine has rally wheels too,but the clearcoat is peeling off big time, looks like it has leprosy..not as clean as yours looks..

Thanks guys!

Yeah, it has the 350/700r4.

plans - lots of plans, little $$$.

I need to take her out & do a "shake down" on it. Fix any immediate issues it may have first. I already have a locker on the way...:waytogo:

If our o.t. holds up I'm thinking a winch will be next. Then I'll get up with fellow member daylton and his new to him K5 and we'll find a place to take them out.:thumb:

Barn doors or no?...cant really tell from the photo angle...if it has them,I'm jealous!...wish mine did...

thanks again guys. Bob, it has a tailgate.

I've been eyeballing H2 rims on our local Craigslist...

That thing is sweet Big Ray!!!

And the H2 wheels are a cheap, accessible option for a 17 inch wheel if you swap to 8 lugs. They also look pretty decent.

whats all the hype about h2's?

They're reasonable priced (cheap!) and actually look good...IMO

I'll be going 8 lug as $$ allows...I have the parts for an 8 lug conversion for the front 10 bolt already, as well as a 3:73 equipped 10 bolt sitting in the garage.

Just need to get a suitable rear axle...again, as funds allow.

I need to through the new (to me) burb and see what ratio gears are in there now. Change fluids, check & service the t-case...get a feel for the girl.

Funny pucker moment...when I picked the truck up I came up on a red light...I hit the brake...pushed down firmly, the truck wasn't slowing like I thought it should...as the car in front got closer I hit the pedal with both feet and said "noooooooo"...

I was expecting it to work like the hydroboost in my diesel 'burb...I felt like this guy----> :eek1:

it was all good as soon as I could breath again :pimp: :doah::doah:

There is a Dana 60 & and 14 bolt on the Boston CL for 750 for both...usually just the front Dana sells for that here...

I am felling pretty stupid--I took my trash to the dump today, and saw 4 nice good sized truck tires in the pile stacked up,and the employee said I was welcome to take them, and that he knew they were just removed from a 1 ton dump truck the town DPW had,and said "I know they held air fine, they just put new tires on all the trucks for winter"..--they had at least 1/2 tread left and were rear dually tires,so no uneven wear..
--all 4 of them matching too!..no dry rot..

I read the size--315/75/17"...DAM!..I have 16" rims...

Like a fool I left them there, not thinking, that I could have either sold them,or swapped them for some tires that would fit my rims..:doah:

Then later on ,I went to my friends shop to hang out awhile...and what do I see in his scrap pile?...2 nice 8 lug 17" rims off some truck he put some blingy rims on--said he thought they were Ford rims, and might have a different 8 lug pattern than my truck, and the backspacing might not be useable up front if they did bolt up..but with my luck I bet they would have fit fine...wishing I'd grabbed those tires now!..:(

I sometimes pick up stuff 'on spec'...might or might not have a need for em down the road and it's a good deal. Last march I snapped up a full set of winter tires that would fit my E36 Bimmer. Never got em mounted, then bought the Suburban. Fast forward to this fall and my daughter was in need of good winter tires. Her boyfriend scores her a really good looking set of 16" alloy rims and I threw in the tires. For under $400 we had brand new winter tires on brand new alloy rims for her...a week before the snow started here.

The hard part is storage if it's a bigger item. I wish I had an acre or three and a bigger shop.

That's part of the problem with me Rene! --I DO have almost 2 acres and a good sized garage and a few sheds!..but I'm trying to get rid of things I collected over the years and never got around to using, not haul more stuff home--but some items like those tires would have been well worth taking..
There was also 3 nice "Blizzack"snow tires there too ,205/60/16,I was tempted to snag those too--too small for my truck, but I might have been able to sell or trade them.....but I must have 20 tires already in my shed that are pretty much not roadworthy, and its 5+ bucks each to toss them at the dump...any I haul home from there already costed someone 5 bucks to leave there,so if I end up having to haul them back they get double for the same tire!..

I may go back to the dump Tuesday, they are closed on Mondays, but I doubt the tires will still be there,Saturday is the day a lot of residents go there and most likely they'll be scoffed up already...I should go grab those rims at my friends shop and see if they will bolt up and work on my truck too--seeing good used 16" tires are getting harder to find ,I suppose having a set of 17" rims wouldn't be a bad thing, and I'd only need 2 more...this wasn't the first time I saw some nice 17" tires I could have scored for free...

I also scored 2 very nice 15" 6 lug rally rims with trim rings and tires that hold air at the dump last year too, that match the ones on my Burb..--just the rims would cost you 25+ each if you could find any at a junkyard here...I also found a full set of 8" 5 lug rally's for my van there, and several others that were 6" and 7" wide too...the things some folks throw away!..
