Ok, more to update!

I got the hydro 465/241 combo swapped in. That was a huge pain, but I managed. I definitely don't want to do it again, that's for sure.

Things were going well, but I knew something was going south in the rear axle. Upon closer inspection, I found that someone had been in the rear axle prior to me getting the truck and didn't tighten the pinion nut properly, allowing the ring and pinion to pretty much wipe itself out. Bring in the replacements!

I knew I was done with half ton stuff, so I picked up an 8-lug 10 bolt with 3.73 gears to match the disk brake swapped 14b I already owned. Knocked the old out and slung these under it, along with some newer wheels and rubber.

In my search for the front axle, I also managed to score a 4.56 geared set of tons. They're from a dually, but that's ok. It'll give me a project to work on in the mean time.

Nice upgrade on the SM465/NP241.

4.56 is pretty deep gear for an SM465. I would definitely run at least 35's.

Have you been daily driving it for the past year?

Did you do the radiator support/grille swap?

The plan is to definitely run at least a 35, if not a 37. I've been trying to drive it, but these swaps taking place in my driveway at the mercy of the weather on the few days I get off extends the job. I recently had it down for a month while I was doing ball joints, axle shaft joints, and wheel bearings. I really wanted to do the swap, but that radiator support was so rusted that I decided against it for now.
